Being a Match Report Writer & Journalist

To support learners in their Report Writing, one of the Scottish FA's Match Reporters (Mitch Feggans), shares the importance of preparation, recording information during the match & meeting a deadline of producing a match report.

Mitch's top tips:

Before match:

- Be prepared to do your research

During match:

- Record in short, sharp, small notes. You can elaborate and add further details later

- Crowd reaction can help in recognising key pieces of action to include in your report

- Other sources can help with further notes e.g. substitutions

After match:

- Quality of your work is very important. Work efficiently. Don't rush!

- Fact check your work

- Edit & review your work at least 3 or 4 times
