Develop a football chat show as a group activity.

Perform a pre-match and post-match interviews.

Act out TV or radio presentations including match analysis, pitchside reporter etc.

Many international tournaments have an official theme song.

Participating nations often have an official theme song to mark the teams involvement in the tournament.

Research and recreate official theme songs.

Create/perform your own theme song or jingle for Scotland's participation at the World Cup.

Capture images in your local/community area relevant to the World Cup e.g:

- school pupils playing in national football strips

- national flags being displayed

- pupils watching a game

- pupils working on Learning Through Football content

- planes flying over/near your school etc.

Use the stimulus of iconic Scotland National Team moments from the past e.g. iconic match images, goals, goal celebrations etc.

Use the stimulus of Scotland's World Cup tournament matches (being played in June) or qualifying matches e.g. Scott McTominay's overhead kick vs Denmark (now a mural in Glasgow - next to Hampden).

Use the extra possible stimulus of past memorable moments from Scotland's participation at previous World Cups.

Further inspiration and link could be made to art styles of the era when original image/moment was captured.

These logos and mascots usually have some relevance and/or significance associated to the host country.

Research and recreate past tournament logos and mascots.

If your local area was to host an international football tournament, what significant colours, imagery, mascots may be relevant?

Create a logo to represent an international football tournament coming to your community.

Learners could recreate/redesign logos to incorporate them into local imagery i.e. a certain tournament/competition coming to your local area.

One stimulus could be; UEFA EURO 2020 Glasgow host city logo, and/or the logos of other host cities from the tournament.

How could this logo be redesigned to represent my local area?

Take on various roles using the World Cup as stimulus.

Lots of possibilities e.g:

- someone currently in USA, Canada or Mexico for the tournament

- someone preparing to watch the game on TV

- a player at the tournament

- a match official at the tournament

- a manager or coach of a national team getting ready for a match at the tournament
